Eucomis Bicolor

The Eucomis is a fascinating South African specimen, with a topknot of leaves above the robust column of flowers - giving it the nickname Pineapple Lily or Pineapple Flower. Broad yellow-green leaves fit for a jungle act as a framing surround, for hundreds of waxy 1-inch star-shaped flowers with maroon edges. The Eucomis favours a sunny position with well-drained soil, just like it would be used to in the wild.
