November is here !! November is Tulip month

As November approaches, the weather is starting to shift. The days are getting shorter, the air is getting colder, and the leaves are changing colours. It's a beautiful time of year, but it also means that winter is just around the corner.

When it comes to planting spring bulbs, timing is crucial for ensuring a successful and vibrant bloom. Tulip bulbs, benefit from being planted from November to prevent the fungal disease known as tulip fire. Planting now allows the bulbs to establish strong roots before the harsh winter sets in, reducing the risk of disease and promoting healthy growth.

While Tulip bulbs start to be planted in November, these and all other spring bulbs can still be planted as late as January or February without any major issues. The only difference you may notice is a slightly delayed bloom time, as the bulbs have less time to establish themselves before the spring season.

As a rule of thumb, bulbs should be planted at a depth of around three times their size. This ensures that they have enough soil coverage to establish strong roots and thrive. Planting bulbs too shallow or too deep can hinder their growth and flowering potential. Spring bulbs generally need sun or partial shade to flourish.

This season, our Tulip selection is even bigger and better. And the quality of the bulbs is very good. Tulips are a beloved spring flower known for their dazzling colours and unique flower shapes. They are a popular choice for gardeners looking to add a burst of colour to their outdoor spaces before the arrival of summer blooms. Different flower forms can also make a significant impact. From Triumph, Darwin, Lily, Fringed and Parrot flowered forms, each type brings its own unique charm to the landscape.
