Gladioli

Gladioli

Gladioli are striking, summer-blooming perennials (often treated as annuals) known for tall, sword-shaped leaves and vibrant spikes of flowers.

The name comes from the Latin gladius, meaning "sword," referring to their long, pointed leaves, which also earned them the nickname Sword Lily

In the language of flowers, they represent remembrance, strength of character, and faithfulness. They are also the traditional 40th-anniversary flower.

They are popular as cut flowers in arrangements because they add height and drama

Due to their African heritage Gladioli like the warmer months which is why you’ll find them flowering in gardens in the UK throughout summer and autumn.

And Finally .. They were Dame Edna Everage's Most Favourite Flower ! 😉
